The Narrowbar Café, Penrith

The aptly named Narrowbar Café opened in 2005 and is situated in the middle of Penrith, a busy market town on the edge of the Lake District. Opening hours are 9.30 am to 5 pm Monday to Saturday. Owners, Phil and Penny Wood run the café with their team of dedicated staff.

The Narrowbar strives to provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere where customers can relax and enjoy the delicious home-made cakes and ‘the best cappuccino in town’. A quote taken from the visitor’s book describes the café as ‘an oasis in a desert’!

If it’s a more substantial feed you're after then choose from the extensive breakfast or lunch menu. The menu is designed to be varied to cater to each customer, the emphasis being on good quality, tasty food. We also offer a range of home cooked daily changing specials, such as beef and barley stew, chorizo and pepper risotto, moussaka and fisherman's pie.

Wifi is available throughout the café enabling you to bring along your laptop and relax in the comfy seating area upstairs or perhaps conduct a business meeting over lunch. The café also houses art by local artists which is available to buy straight off the walls!

A fully stocked bar is available and a selection of wines both new & old worlds.
